Useful For

The BD MAX Vaginal Panel is intended to aid in the diagnosis of vaginal infections in women with clinical presentation consistent with bacterial vaginosis, vulvovaginal candidiasis and trichomoniasis.

Reference Values

Trichomonas vaginalis DNA:  negative

Candida group DNA:  negative

Candida glabrata DNA:  negative

Candida krusei DNA:  negative

Gardnerella vaginalis DNA:  negative

Specimen

Specimens should be collected using the BD Molecular Swab Collection Kit according to the collection kit instructions. Vaginal specimens are the only acceptable source for this assay and it can be provider collected or self-swab patient collected.

Specimen Stability: 

BD Molecular Swab Sample Buffer Tubes can be stored for a maximum of 21 days at 2-30°C.
