Important Note

This panel is no longer offered by MaineGeneral Medical Center. If requested, the ordering provider must contact a pathologist for prior approval at 626-1409.

The recommended substitute is MaineGeneral's rheumatoid profile/immune survey.  (test code RAP)

Performing Laboratory

Foundation for Blood Research

Reference Values

All protein levels are age- and sex-dependent and, for interpretation, are corrected for total immunoassay protein (see interpretative report).

Methodology

Indirect Immunofluorescence/Immunoturbidimetry/Immunonephelometry/High Resolution Protein Electrophoresis

Specimen Requirements

Draw blood in a plain, red-top tube(s) or a serum gel tube(s) from a fasting patient (12 hour preferred). Spin down and send 2 mL (minimum volume:  1 mL/pediatric volume:  1 mL) of serum.
