Notes

1) Patients taking calcineurin inhibitors should stop medication 72 hours prior to draw.

2) Patients taking prednisone swhould be off their medication for 2 weeks frior to draw.

Specimen Requirements

Daw 3-5 ml of blood in serum gel (gold) tube. Separate from cells within 2 hours of draw. 0.5 ml serum required.

Note: Label specimen with patient’s name (first and last), date of birth, date and time of draw, and phlebotomist’s initials.
