Useful For
EliA Cardiolipin assays (part of EliA APS tests) are highly specific, automated tests designed for the diagnosis of Antiphospholipid Syndrome (APS).
Purpose: Identify IgG, IgM, or IgA anti-cardiolipin antibodies.

Clinical Utility:
- Thrombosis Risk: Helps assess the risk of dangerous blood clots in veins or arteries.
- Pregnancy Complications: Used to identify risks of recurrent miscarriages or fetal loss.
- Autoimmune Disease: Frequently used alongside lupus anticoagulant testing in patients with Systemic Lupus Erythematosus (SLE).
Specimen Requirements
Collection Container/Tube:
Preferred: Serum
Acceptable: Red top
Submission Container/Tube: Plastic vial
Specimen Volume: 2mL preferred, 1.5mL minimum
Collection Instructions: Centrifuge within 2 hours and aliquot serum into a plastic vial.
