APTIMA Transcription-Mediated Amplification Detection for Specific High Rish HPV mRNA Nucleic Acid
Note: Testing is for High-Risk HPV types only in cervical specimens; HPV types 16, 18/45
Specimen Requirements
1. Collect specimen using a ThinPrep® vial with liquid media and brush head.
2. Label vial with patient’s name (first and last), date of birth, date and actual time of collection, medical record number, and type of specimen.
3. Please complete a “Cervical Cytology ‘PAP’ Request Form” in “Request Forms/Forms” in “Special Instructions.”
Note: 1. Clearly indicate on the “Cervical Cytology ‘PAP’ Request Form” that HPV testing is desired, or call Pathology at 207-626-1109 with the request.
2. Testing for HPV ONLY, without PAP, requires submission in a ThinPrep® vial as well.
