Useful For
Diagnostic use in the quantitative measurment of cardiac troponin I in human plasma. This assay can be used to aid in the diagnosis of acute myocardial infarction (AMI).
Specimen
Plasma
Draw blood in a green-top lithium heparin tube. Label the specimen with the patient's name (first and last), date of birth, date and time of collection and the phlebotomist's initials. Spin down and send specimen refrigerated.
Specimen stability:
8 hours at room temperature
24 hours when stored at 2-8°C
40 days when frozen at ≤-20°C
Minimum volume:
1 mL

Women:
Normal range: 0-34 pg/mL
Critical result (automatic call-back): ≥ 35 pg/mL
Men:
Normal range: 0-54 pg/mL
Critical result (automatic call-back): ≥ 55 pg/mL
