Identifying children with lead poisoning.
Specimen
Draw blood in a lead-free, tan top tube and refrigerate. Label the specimen with the patient's name (first and last), DOB, date and time of collection and the collector's initial's.
Specimen stability: 14 days refrigerated
Minimum volume: 300 uL
Specimen rejection criteria: Specimens received in a lavendar-top tube, specimens older than 14 days, specimens containing sodium citrate, clotted specimens or frozen specimens.
