Useful For
Detection of total (IgM + IgG) antibody response to Borrelia burgdorferi using a multiplex immunoassay format. Useful as an initial serologic screen for Lyme disease in patients with signs and symptoms consistent with Lyme infection. Positive or equivocal results should be followed by confirmatory testing according to established diagnostic algorithms
Specimen Requirement
Serum
Draw blood in a gold-top (serum separator) gel tube or a red-top (no additive) tube.
Specimen stability:
Refrigerated: 7 Days
Frozen for longer storage: Up to 12 months
Minimum volume:
1 mL
Specimen rejection criteria:
Hemolyzed, icteric or grossly contaminated samples will not be used.
