Specimen Requirements

Urine

Collect 10 mL random urine in a plastic screw cap urine container with no preservatives. Label the specimen with the patient's name (first and last), date of birth, date and time of collection and the collector's initials. Send specimen refrigerated.

Specimen stability:

8 hours room temperature

3 days refrigerated at 2-8°C

freeze at ≤ -20°C for longer storage

Minimum volume:

2 mL
