Methodology

Fluorescence Polarization Immunoassay (FPIA)

Quinidine is indicated in the treatment of premature atrial and ventricular contractions, paroxysmal atrial tachycardia, paroxysmal A-V junctional rhythms, and atrial flutter. Quinidine is contraindicated in A-V block and in digitalis-induced A-V conduction disorders.

Specimen Requirements

Draw blood in a plain, red-top tube(s). Spin down and send 1 mL (minimum volume: 0.3 mL) of serum refrigerated.

Note:  Label specimen with patient’s name (first and last), date of birth, date and time of draw, and phlebotomist’s initials.
