Useful For

Providing measurement of the drug in whole blood to guide dosage adjustments for optimal immunosuppression while minimizing toxicity.

Specimen Requirements

Draw blood in a lavender-top (EDTA) tube, and send 4.5 mL (minimum volume: 0.3 mL) of EDTA whole blood refrigerated. DO NOT CENTRIFUGE. Send in original VACUTAINER®.

Reference Values

Therapeutic Ranges:
≤3 months post renal transplant: 12.0-15.0 ng/mL
>3 months post renal transplant: 8.0-12.0 ng/mL

Potentially Toxic: 15.1-20.0 ng/mL
Toxic: >20.0 ng/mL
