Specimen Requirements
Plasma
Draw blood in a green-top tube(lithium heparin) tube prior to morning dose. Label the specimen with the patients name (first and last) date of birth, date and time of draw and the phlebotomist's initials. Please include date, time, amount and route of last dose, and a list of other drugs patient is taking on request form.
Specimen stability:
8 hours at room temperature
7 days refrigerated at 2-8°C
Freeze at ≤ -20°C for longer storage
Minimum volume:
0.5 mL
Specimen rejection criteria:
Samples stored longer than 8 hours at room temperature will be rejected.
