Specimen Requirements

Serum, gold SST or red topped tube. Volume serum needed 1.0 ml (minimum 0.5ml). Hemolysis is not acceptable.

 Label specimen with patient’s name (first and last), date of birth, date and time of draw, phlebotomist’s initials, and as serum.

Keep tube stoppered and upright at all times. Specimen stabile at room temperature for 24 hours. Stable at   2-8⁰ C for up to 7 days.
